Teacher Feature: Mr. Carpenter – Nov. 2015

“The person who loves their dream of community will destroy community, but the person who loves those around them will create community.”
Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Life Together

The most remarkable thing to me about community is that the less you care about yourself, the more compelling you will be to others. The most attractive communities to me are made up of selfless personalities who are willing to give of their time, their efforts, and their talents in order to better the lives of those around them. Founders Classical Academy of Lewisville has been blessed with a community of servant leaders who seek to be a blessing to others. I, personally, have been richly blessed in the very short time I have been a part of this community, and I am overwhelmed by the way that families here love those around them, as Dietrich Bonhoeffer stated in the quote above. The PTO of FCA go above and beyond to show honor to others, and I encourage each family of FCA to consider joining their efforts to serve our students, our faculty, and the other families here in our little community. Let us not dream of the perfect community, but rather, let us love those around us in order to create the deepest, most meaningful community we can.
